Motorcycles must be insured based on the same minimum liability
requirements as a motor vehicle in the State of Virginia.
However, it is advisable that, given the high risk of personal injury
occurring while riding a motorcycle, motorcyclists inquire about
motorcycle insurance that includes higher MedPay, PIP, and/or
Underinsured/Uninsured coverage. Medical expenses can easily top
$100,000 after a serious accident, and this type of medical bill will
often leave the injured at a loss for appropriate funds. Take the
added precaution by researching and acquiring higher motorcycle
insurance coverage if you are taking to the road on a 2-wheeler.
